Crucible: Earth

One moment, Larry Daily was a delivery driver enjoying a camping trip; the next, reality itself became a game. Earth has been integrated into a cosmic System, stats flash before his eyes, and goblins are storming the Rockies. His familiar Colorado is now a medieval realm, his car useless, and his only path forward is on foot. His focus narrows to one desperate goal: reach his family in Fort Collins. But the journey is fraught with bewildering changes, not least of which are his beloved dogs, now sentient dogkin folk—a boisterous paladin and a cunning rogue. Every step through this transformed world tests his pragmatism against the fantastical. The System’s arbitrary rules are a constant frustration, offering glimpses of hope with talk of "Safe Zones" for minors and caretakers, accessible only through a new, System-mandated postal service. This glimmer of light is also a fresh source of anxiety, deepening his separation from his wife and child. Alongside his friends, Joe and Nicco, Larry must quickly learn to decipher this new reality, leveraging their unique skills to survive. Ancient evils stir, human populations dwindle, and the very fabric of existence has been rewritten. Can Larry adapt to a world where magic is real and his family is out of reach, or will the Crucible of Earth consume everything he holds dear?
